Linsanity

"Linsanity" shocked the world when Asian NBA Point Guard Jeremy Lin showcased his talent in front of the New York Knicks crowd in Madison Sqaure Garden against the Los Angeles Lakers on February 10. He outscored Lakers' star player Kobe Bryant with his 38 points which led the knicks to get the victory. Many people say that Lin's story is the most surprising in the NBA. Actually, he is an undrafted player that was waived by the Knicks' management. Knicks fans developed nicknames for him along with a new lexicon inspired by his name, Lin. Most popular was the word Linsanity, the excitement over the unheralded Lin. he still plays good for the team and I konw that he can be the next big star of the NBA.

Never Say Die

"Ginebra! Ginebra!" This is the most popular chant that I hear whenever I watch the PBA. The whole crowd cheers for the "People's Champ" of the PBA, the Barangay Ginebra Kings. This team believes in the Never Say Die spirit that lifts them in their crucial games. They've been the champions in the PBA. But even if they dont win a championship, their fans just keep on supporting them because of their remarkable trait. They have many fans because they say that "Pang-masa ang Ginebra!" I beleive that in the next generation, Ginebra is still prevailing in the heart of every Filipino. It was Grade 2 when I first watched a PBA game. On that very point, I have personally choose Ginebra as my favorite team. And up to now, I still love the Barangay Ginebra Kings. :)

Pinoy Basketball

Filipinos playing basketball despite of the calamities.
The game Basketball is very popular in our country. It is a game for everybody. Some can play, and some can just watch. I enjoy it whenever I play Basketball. Since I was 7, I used to play basketball in the street. Just like what many Filipinos do. Rain or shine, basketball still continues. In some places in the Philippines that were always affected by flood, Basketball never stops. This shows how Filipinos love the sport. It does not matter if you're rich or you're poor. As long as you know that you have the talent, then don't be afraid to play the game. You have the freedom to show them what you've got.
